We had a mild frost here twice this week. I'm positive it only happens because I've put in so much so early, but there you have it. The little man and I mulched the first potatoes heavily but the tops still were burnt.
I hope they recover. Everything else seems to be ok.
In other news, the rooster quails are starting to crow so I've been working on reducing my numbers this week. The next post will be the results and thoughts on the quail project.
Same here, mine were got but have thrived since. I might just leave them in a bit longer than planned. It's been very cold for May in NE England where I live. We used to use my Dad's birthday at the end of April as the last frost date but I am really not sure this year!
Tops on my 'tators got had a few weeks ago, they seem fine now. Everything I'm growing is under fleece at the moment!
ReplyDeleteI used to rely on my mom to call me when we were expecting a frost. We don't have TV so I pretty much just leave it to chance anymore.

ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky to have an early one. How funny - our last frost date is MY dad's birthday at the end of May!
